Colin Firth in a suit with a painting that could be a Monet.

Is this movie really that terrible? Look at all of its qualifications…

And I haven’t even started on Alan Rickman & Stanley Tucci…

But who am I kidding here? Even if it is terrible I will still enjoy every minute of it with no guilt whatsoever…

Not terrible — if you get the 1960’s genre of caper films, it’s very good. And it has a nekkid Alan Rickman!

so, fun fact, you can see alan rickman (almost) naked in the movie gambit.

Funner fact, you can see him completely naked in the movie Dark Harbor.

To answer the DoctorWho new to Who question, for those of us longtime fans to give our histories related to Dr Who — I first saw Dr Who in a book of Sci Fi TV Series. It was Dr 3 in those pictures but the first episode I saw was Robot in around 1978 on a Houston PBS station. My friends also became fans and we went to Peter Davison’s introductory convention in Oklahoma, costumed as Dr 4, Dr 2, Romana 2 and Time Lady Rodan (me). After that I wrote to Jon and asked if we could meet if I was visiting London, which I did, meeting his family (including then-teenaged Sean). It was the start of a 14 year friendship lasting until Jon’s death. Plenty of conventions and other adventures followed, including events where Colin and his costume were first revealed and Sylvester McCoy was first presented (both times I ran into them before the big reveals), and the Five Doctors filming/20th anniversary UK event.

Frankly I avoided the New Who until just last year because in advertisements Christopher Eccleston looked like the typical Syfy channel hero. Wrong!

I feel kinship for Peter Capaldi — the day he was chosen I was driving around Las Vegas waiting for the big announcement. What good news it was!

Since I’ve watched dark harbour when I see Alan Rickman all I can think is “you’ve kissed Norman Reedus” and it makes me mad because I’m jealous of Snape for gods sake

I’m jealous of Mr. Reedus!
